Child pick a back


Child pick a back (Phylanthus urinaria, Linn.) in the Indonesian language is called "Meniran", derived from the tropical plant that grows wild in the forests, fields, gardens and courtyard garden. Generally these plants are not maintained, because the grass plant is considered normal. Child pick a place which flourished back in the humid lowland until height of 1000 meters above sea level.

This rod-shaped trunked plants wet with less than 50 cm high. Having a finned leaf petiole even each one composed of compound leaves that have a small size and oval shaped. Flowers are in axillary panicles facing downward.

This plant is rich with a variety of chemical constituents that have been known, among others: lignans (Filantin, hipofilantin, nirantin, lintetratin), flavonoids (quercetin, quercitrin, isoquercitrin, astragalin, routine, kaempferol-4, rhamnopynoside), alkaloids, triterpenoids, fatty acids (ricinoleat acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid), vitamin C, potassium, resin, tannins, geraniin, phyllanthin and hypophyllanthin.

These herbs are: astringent, laxative urine (inhibit formation of calcium oxalate crystals), fever, anti-hepatotoxic, anti-bacterial against escherichiacoli, staphylococcus aureus, bacillus subtilis, hypoglycemic. These plant extracts can inhibit aldosereductase (AR) because the compound has inhibitory ellagic acidnya six times more powerful than quercitrin, known as inhibitor AR (aldose reduction process become diabetic).

Some diseases that can be treated with this plant are: Jaundice (liver), malaria, fever, epilepsy, cough, excessive menstruation, dysentery, burns, wounds ulceration, acne.
