Pale turmeric (Curcuma heynaena Val)



Pale turmeric or temu putih (in Indonesian) is an annual herb plant that was 2 meters high. This plant stems pale green and is a pseudo stem that is composed of a collection of leaf midrib. Shaped light green leaves are broad lanceolate, thin, and leaf veins visible. Flowers grow from the side bar, on the edge of the crown of red flowers, and leaves have pointy toes protective.

Rhizome of this herb brown vaginal discharge, growth spreads to the left and right sticks lengthwise. If the roots are cut will look flesh colored yellow and has a distinctive pale turmeric aromatic and bitter.


This herb has chemical substances contained in the rhizome, such as essential oils, starch, resins, fats, tannins, and bitter substances.

Pale turmeric is one of the many types of herbal plants have benefits. Pale turmeric rhizome is very useful for treating diseases such as skin diseases (scabies, rash, and ulcers), intestinal worms, skin peeling or heal wounds, restore tired bodies, as a slimming drug body, cleanse the blood, and others.
