Red betel plant has a scientific name piper piperacae crocatum included in the family. Red betel This is one of the potential medicinal plant which has been known to have various medicinal properties to cure various kinds of diseases.

Other chemical constituents contained in the leaves of this herb is hidroksikavocol, kavicol, kavibetol, allyprokatekol, karvakrol, eugenol, cineole, caryofelen, kadimen estragol, terpene and phenyl propada.

Due to the high content of chemical compounds, red betel leaf has a very large benefits as a drug ingredient. In this herbaceous plant phytochemical compounds which contain alkaloids, saponins, tannins, and flavonoids. Fitokaloid and flavonoid compounds having hypoglycemic activity or lowering blood glucose levels.Karvakrol is disinfectant, anti-fungal that can be used for antiseptic treatment of bad breath and white.
