Dandelion is a herb belonging to the tribe Asteraceae. In Indonesia, this plant is known by the name "Jombang. The roots contain taraxol, taraxerol, taraxicin, taraxasterol, b-amyrin, stigmasterol, b-sitosterol, choline, levulin, pectin, inulin, calcium, potassium, glucose, and fructose. The leaves contain lutein, violaxanthin, plastoquinone, tannins, carotenoids, potassium, sodium, calcium, choline, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, sulfur, and vitamins (A, BI, B2, C and D). Flowers contain arnidiol and flavoxanthin. Pollen contains the ß-sitoserol, 5a-stigmast-7-en-3ß-ol, folic acid, and vitamin C.
