Treatment of asthma with medicinal plants.

Asthma is a chronic airway inflammatory disease causes increased airway hiperesponsif that cause symptoms of recurrent episodic wheezing, shortness of breath, chest feels heavy and coughing, especially at night before dawn. These symptoms occur associated with airway obstruction vast, varied and often reversible with or without treatment.

As is known, the human respiratory tract originated from the mouth and nose, then come together at the neck into the trachea (windpipe) which will enter the lungs. In the lung, one tracheal airway would be two branches, one to the left lung and one to the right lung. After that, each of which will branch out again, the longer the course the smaller to 23 times and ended up in the alveoli, where gas exchange occurs, the oxygen into the blood vessel, and carbon dioxide removed.

In general, the symptoms of asthma are shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing. These symptoms often arise in the morning before dawn. This is because the effect of hormone balance low levels of cortisol when the morning and various other factors.

People with asthma will complain of shortness of breath due to breathing air at the time can not flow smoothly on a narrow airway and this is also the cause of sound during breathing. In people with asthma, narrowing of the airways that occurs can be a contraction and closing of the channel by which dirpoduksi excessive phlegm and cause cough as a response to remove the phlegm.

Basically, the most effective asthma treatment is to avoid trigger factors of asthma and using asthma medications to reduce airway inflammation. Asthma treatment quickly is by using drugs such as respiratory relief and nebulizer inhaler that works to stop an asthma attack. Long-term treatment that works to prevent asthma attacks is to use drugs such as steroids used to keep the airways open and reduce swelling.

Treatment of asthma can use medicinal plants, such as Acalypha australis L. commonly known by the name of Acalypha indica and Mimosa pudica root.
